The WVLA held our Easter Fair. On offer were hand-crafted bunnies, chicks and Easter baskets, many of them carrying a secret stash of Crème Eggs. We had a stall packed full of delicious cakes and cookies, with room made for the How Many Eggs in the Jar competition. And as usual there was the main draw – the children’s art and crafts activities. As well as an Easter Egg trail in the garden to top it all off.
Over a hundred people attended our Fair - around 30 children had an exciting time hunting clues in the garden, being rewarded at the end with a chocolate egg. Many teas and coffees were made and consumed, and there were very few crumbs left on the cake stall at the end of the morning.
Our Name the Bunny competition had been on display for a couple of weeks, and lots of people had a go at picking a name. It turns out our Rabbit was called Roger – of course he was. The winner has been informed, and we hope he has enough room at home for a 100cm high bunny.
We had an extremely impressive Easter chocolate hamper as our main raffle prize, along with lots of other tasty treats. This raffle was very popular, and the hamper was won by one of the regular attendees of our library. We’re sure she’ll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
Thanks to our volunteers for putting the fair together, for donating the prizes and the goodies, and for working so hard on the day. Thanks to everyone who attended. It won’t be our last fair, and we’ll work hard to ensure everyone continues to have as much fun at them.
PS: It looks like we raised £350.00 from this event so thank you all for supporting the library.
